Vietnam, Indonesia to further defence strategy studies cooperation
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Nguyen Phuong Nam hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 19 for Colonel Weddy Widya, Deputy Director of the Strategic Study Centre of the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
Senior Lieutenant General Nam spoke highly of the increasing development of the Vietnam-Indonesia traditional friendship.
Particularly, recent visits to Indonesia of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich contributed significantly to tightening the bilateral relations, including defence cooperation.
Colonel Widya underlined that the two countries have enjoyed a sound bilateral relationship over recent times and informed the Vietnamese host of the results of his meeting with the Institute for Defence Strategy of Vietnam under the Ministry of National Defence.
General Nam highly valued those outcomes and emphasized that leaders of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army will create favorable conditions for the Institute for Defence Strategy of Vietnam and the Strategic Study Centre of the Indonesian National Armed Forces to further boost their cooperation.
